She was born January 25, 1906 in St. Louis, the daughter of Charles and Clara Lehner Broadhead. Vera was a former member of the Eastern Star and the Business and Professional Women of Belding. Before she was married Vera had worked in the Belding Silk Mills. Later, after her marriage to Howard Brown on February 6, 1924, she worked at Howard Brown and Sons Electrical Contracting and then retired from the D & C Store in Belding. Howard preceded her in death on December 19, 1955. She married Orby McCoy on March 16, 1957, and he died in May of 1962. She was also preceded in death by her parents; brother, Claude Broadhead; and four sisters, Ida Fries, Hazel Broadhead, Helen Lozo and Isabelle Corey. She is survived by her children, Paul Marvin and Evelyn Brown of Belding, Norabelle Gill of Manassas, Virginia; eight grandchildren, 13 great- grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren; sister, Harriett Albin of Blissfield; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services are 1 .m. today at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding, with Pastor Byron Davey of Hillcrest Free Methodist Church officiating. Interment is in River Ridge Cemetery, Belding.
