Oct. 1, 2016 ROBERT BRUCE Robert "Scott" Bruce passed away on Friday, September 23, 2016 at his cabin in Michigan's Upper Peninsula where he spent many summers. He was born in Marquette, MI on February 24, 1947. Scott was a graduate of Marquette Senior High School and attended Northern Michigan University. Scott served two tours of duty in Vietnam in the U.S. Army as a fixed-wing aircraft mechanic and crew chief. He then worked as an independent insurance agent for 46 years. Scott cherished his time in the Upper Peninsula and as an avid hunter and fisherman. Scott loved a good bargain, working with computers, cooking, and country music. Scott was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Bruce and Eileen Werner-Bruce, and his sister Lorna. He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Patricia Hibbs of lake Odessa, sister Allison "Chris" (Bill) Bernard of Fernley, NV: daughter Dana Stansel of Roseville, CA; step-daughters Shannon (Jeremiah) Bell of Seattle, WA; and Brandy (Korey) Klann of White lake, MI; step-sons Nathan (Sheila) Hibbs of Kalamazoo, MI; and John Hibbs of Elizabethtown, KY. He is also survived by grand-daughter Haley Stansel and step-grandchildren Kaelyn and Bentley Klann, and Gabriella, Michaella, and Seraphina Bell. Cremation has taken place, In accordance with his wishes, a funeral service will not be held. The family will honor his memory by contributing towards the hunter's safety program.
