Ionia County News, 23 May 1940

George Burgess, 75, 237 ½ South Dexter street, died Monday morning, May 20,
after two weeks serious illness.

Mr. Burgess was born in North Plains township and had spent all of his life in
Ionia county.  For many years he was a familiar figure in Ionia where he worked
as street cleaner.

Rev. F.G. Dunbar officiated at the funeral service which was held Wednesday, May
22, from Boynton Funeral home.  Burial was at Muir.
