Brune passed away peacefully on June 5, 2017 at the age of 94. Helen was born on Jan. 7, 1923 in Belding, MI, the daughter of Palmer and Grace (Robinson) Hall. Helen graduated from Belding High School with the class of 1941. She then took her Civil Service exam and moved to Muskegon working for the government during the war. Her main job was to test "Flash-Hiders" on the machine guns, disassembling and re-assembling the guns and then shooting them on a range to make sure the muzzle flash was hidden from the enemy. She later worked on other machinery parts at that plant. She moved back to Belding and worked at Federal Mogul where she met her future husband Forrest, they were married for 63 years until his death on Jan. 7, 2010. After they married she went to work at Fisher Body in Grand Rapids, sewing on upholstery for many years. Her other jobs were always sewing related and worked at Chrysler in Lyons until they closed. She then decided to stay at home, working on the family farm that she and her husband had owned for many years. they enjoyed raising herferds, peaches and hay. Helen is survived by her children, Scott & Judy Brune and Sharri and Dave German of Belding, Bruce Brune of Dallas, OR, and Suzanne and Don Sovereign of Sheridan. There are 12 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 12 great-great grandchildren. Helen was preceded in death by her husband Forrest, parents, and two brothers & sister-in-law , Clayton Hall and Maxine Hall and Kenneth and Ethel Hall also brother-in-law and sister-in-law Herman & Ruth Brune of Edmore, grandson, Michael Brune of CA, and daughter-in-law Diane Brune of OR. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday June 9, 2017 at Shiloh Community Church with Pastor Ken Harger officiating. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday at Johnson-Feurstein Funeral Home, Belding and one hour before the service at church. Interment will be in Rest Haven Memory Gardens, Belding. Memorials may be given to the American Heart Association or Ionia Area Hospice.
