He was taken ill with a heart ailment at his cottage at Woodard Lake early Saturday morning. Born in Muskegon September 25, 1900, he was the son of Frank and Anna Golnick Brusge. He moved to Ionia in 1925 and since had owned and operated the Brusge Tent and Awning Company. A member of the Elks lodge he was its past treasurer and chaplain. He also belonged to the Moose lodge and was a member of SS Peter and Paul church. July 5, 1920, he was married in Grand Rapids to Ann Busch and they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1970. Surviving besides the wife, Ann, are a son, Robert of Grand Rapids; daughter, Mrs. Noreen Spear of Torance, Calif.; nine grandchildren; sister, Mrs. Frances Martin of Jackson. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at SS Peter and Paul church. Graveside services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Mount Calvary cemetery at Grand Rapids. Rosary will be recited Tuesday at 8:30 p.m. at Myers-Roetman funeral home. A memorial has been established for the Elks major project.
