Wilma J. Bruyette, 93, of Ionia died Saturday, Feb. 1, 1997 at her home.  Wilma 
Jane Loveless was born July 27, 1903 in Cadillac, the daughter of Wesley and 
Helen (Docstader) Loveless.  She grew up in Cadillac and graduated from Ferris 
College in 1923 as a bookkeeper.  She was married to Joseph F. Bruyette in 
Cadillac on Nov. 27, 1924.  The couple moved to Big Rapids in 1942 and to Ionia 
in 1943.  She worked as a bookkeeper for McNamara Drug Store in Ionia for 22 
years, retiring in 1978.  She was a member of the Ionia Moose Lodge Women’s 
Auxiliary since 1945 and was an avid gardener.

She is survived by one daughter, Judy (Jack) Guild of Ionia; one son-in-law, 
Donald Clark of Ionia; six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, two great 
great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joseph on Aug. 2, 1985; one 
daughter, Betty H. Clark in 1995; two sisters, Margaret and Eva; one brother, 
John, one granddaughter, Cathy Clark; and one great-grandson, Justin Miller.

Funeral services for Wilma J. Bruyette will be conducted Wednesday, Feb. 5, at 
11 a.m. from the Cook Funeral Home, Rich St. Chapel, with Robert Chapin 
officiating.  Interment will be in Balcom Cemetery.  Visitation will be 
Tuesday, Feb. 4, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Rich 
St. Chapel.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family.  Envelopes are available at 
the Cook Funeral Home in Ionia.
