Leon E. Buche, Ninth Fatality In Ionia Co. 

Leo E. Buche, 30 years old, an employee of the Fisher Body, Lansing and a 
resident of Eagle, wat the ninth fatality in Ionia county when he met his death 
in a one car accident just south of Portland last Monday morning.

Officers at the scene of the accident said that the car was going at a high rate 
of speed and according to the skid marks on the road, traveled for some distance 
out of control, before leaving the road and crashing into to sizeable trees, 
where it became wedged.

Leon was the son of the late Claude and Ethel Buche and is the grandson of Mrs. 
Milo T. Norcutt of Clarksville and the late Mr. Norcutt.

Survivors include his wife, Margie and three children, brothers, Melvin & 
Kenneth, both of Greenville.

Dale Kauffman, Ionia county coroner said that death was due to a fractured 
skull. Troopers James Kneale and William Tompkins of the Ionia State Police post 
investigated the fatal crash. 

Funeral services were held on Thursday (today) at 2 p.m. at the Beattie funeral 
home with burial in the Clarksville cemetery.
