When two years of age she came with her parents to Lyons, and practically all her life has been spent in this vicinity. Her father at one time ran a mill on Libbart creek. She was married to Jacob Buck June, 1855. Most of their married life was spent on the farm where she died. Seven children were born to them of whom four survive. Clarence Buck of St. Paul, Minn., Mrs. Annette B. Fisk of Detroit, Mrs. Ada Lester of Ionia and Roy Buck of Lyons. At the age of thirteen she was converted in the Methodist church in Portland. Through the years she has kept her faith and love for Christian services, taking an active in prayer meetings, and other religious services held in the neighborhood. In recent years she has been more closely confined at home by the infirmities of age and the care of her invalid husband. A. testimony to her Christian faith was left in her request that at her funeral the hymn, “Asleep in Jesus,” should be sung and the pastor should speak from the text, “She is not dead but sleepeth.” Had she lived a month and a day longer she would have reached the age of eighty two; but worn with long weeks of her final illness, she passed to the Christians home Aug. 28, 1919. Funeral services were held at the home, south east of town, Saturday afternoon conducted by Rev. G. A. Brown, and interment made in Lyons cemetery.
