Buck died last Friday at the home of his son near Hale, Mich., after a brief illness, aged 82 years, 5 months and 9 days. Deceased had been a patient sufferer with rheumatism for the past 12 years, being cared for by a faithful wife until August of last year, when she passed to her reward. He had been in especially good health this winter, and passed away after an illness of one- half hour of heart failure. Mr. Buck was born November 14th, 1837, in Stark county, Ohio, and came to this vicinity in 1856, and has resided in this county almost continuously since. On June 14th, 1857, he was united in marriage to Clarissa L. Way of Lyons who preceded him in death by some eight months. They are survived by four children: Annette B. Fiske of Detroit; C.W. Buck of St. Paul, Minn., Ada Lester of Okemos; and Roy F. Buck of Hale. The body was brought to Lyons Saturday, and funeral services were held from the farm home south of town Sunday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Chas. Nease of the Lyons M.E. church.
