BUCK DEAD From Peritonitis - He Passed Away at 12:15 Thursday Morning Edward V. Buck died at his home in this city at 12:15 a.m. Thursday of peritonitis, aged 29 years, 2 months, 19 days. He was the second son of I. Buck, and was born in this city on Oct. 10, 1870. Attended the public schools until old enough to commence the cares of life when he entered the store of Webber & Buck. Later he went with his brother T. R. Buck, when the firm of Webber & Buck was dissolved, and has spent his young life in the busy marts of trade. He was considered a rising young man. Some four years ago he was married to Miss Nellie Skinner, of Lansing, who, with a bright little three year old daughter, Marion, survives him, as do also his father, two brothers, Thos. R. and Philo, and one sister, Mrs. Carrie Woolford, of Detroit. In the death of Mr. Buck Ionia loses one of its most popular and wide awake young men and one whose death will be universally regretted. Of a genial, kindly and courteous disposition he had endeared himself in an unusual degree to a large circle of friends who will unite with the immediate relatives in mourning his loss. It would seem as though Ionia were getting more than its share of sad deaths, but the death of "Ed" Buck was received in the nature of a shock; being so sad so sudden and so unexpected.
