V. Buck was born in the city of Ionia, Oct. 9, 1869, and died December 29, 1898, leaving surviving him a wife and one child. “Eddie,” as he was commonly known and called by his numerous friends and associates, had lived his whole life in the City of Ionia, and owing to his position in the business world was known to the greater portion of the citizens of Ionia, and held in the highest esteem by everyone. We do not recall to mind a single instance where anyone has ever expressed anything but the highest regard for him. His character was above reproach, and we believe he lived an upright and pure life. He became a member of Wabasis tent July 18, 1895, had therefore been a member about three years and a half. In kindly remembrance of him, we deem it fitting that the following preamble and resolutions be presented in connection with this obituary: Whereas, Almighty God has removed from among us one of our most respected and beloved members, Ed. V. Buck; and Whereas, We deeply mourn with the wife and relatives of our deceased brother, and deeply deplore the loss of one so young and full of manly vigor who had before him, seemingly, many years of happiness and joy; and Whereas, By his sudden death in the full vigor of his manhood, we are admonished of that saying: “In the midst of life we are in death;” and Whereas, It is fitting and proper that some lasting record should be kept by this body as a monument to his noble manhood; therefore Be is resolved, First, That the charter of this tent be draped in mourning for the period of thirty day. Second, That a copy of these resolutions be spread upon the recorded minutes of this tent. Third, That a copy be transmitted by the Record Keeper to the wife of our deceased brother; and Fourth, That a copy be furnished to the daily papers for publication. F. C. Miller H. S. Welch W. B.
