The son of Edward Dale and Reta H.A. Minard Buckley, he was born on July 25, 1940 in Sidney. Dick retired from the former Gibson Refrigerator Company and had been a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing and mushrooming. He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Dale Buckley, on February 13, 1995; and a brother, Edward Wayne Buckley. He is survived by his mother, Reta Buckley of Turk Lake; five daughters and three sons-in-law, Robin and Michael Henry of Hemlock, Denise and Sam Knight of Merrill, Laura and Ed Stenberg of Waterford, Mary Ann “Jodi” Hoffner of Florida and Barbara Oakley of Ithaca; a brother and sister-in-law, Arthur D. and Alice Buckley of Ovid; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, with a third on the way; several nieces and nephews; and many special friends. Funeral services are 1 p.m. today at Brown- Teman & Christiansen Funeral Home, Greenville, with the Rev. Dennis Johnson, pastor of Greenville Bible Methodist Church, officiating. Private interment is in East Montcalm Cemetery. Envelopes for memorial contributions to Gratiot Area Hospice are available at the funeral home, where the family will receive relatives from noon until the time of services today.
