Buckley were sadly shocked at the passing away of this dear one. Christmas communication had been received by various friends and relatives only a few days previous, at which time she complained of no ailments. Sunday December 19 she enjoyed a happy day with her family, with no cloud on the horizon of their happiness. Mrs. Buckley was born on a farm near Ravell’s old mill near Belding on July 10, 1872. She passed out Monday December 20th at her home on the new farm north of the city, after a day of violent illness. She had been a resident of Ionia County for years since her oldest daughter was a little girl. She is survived by her mother Mrs. Stephen Bortvick of Belding, her husband, Mr. Wm. Buckley, her two daughters, Mrs. Geo. Peterson of Ionia, and Miss Amber Buckley, who will remain with her father, four sisters, Mrs. John Cartridge of Belding, Mrs. Jerome Hicks of Grant, Mrs. A. Bush of Greenville and Mrs. J. D. Hill of Grand Rapids and one brother Wm. Rose who resides with his mother at Belding. The funeral services were held at the Bradley Mortuary in Ionia at 10:30 Thursday morning.
