Slanker was born in Slankertown, Ohio, Feb. 22, 1852. Moved with her parents at the age of four years to Ionia Co., where she lived until 1880. She was married to ?.J. Buckley, April 27, 1876. To her were born seven children, five of whom are still living, Mrs. J.C. Bunnell of Boise City, Idaho; Mrs. Stephen Thomas of Sears, Mich., Mrs. Lewis Scott, of Battle Creek., Mrs. C.C. Patrick of Kuna, Idaho, and Pearl Buckley of Butternut. She gave her heart to God and was baptized at the age of 20. Thought naturally of a reticent home loving disposition, her heart remained the same through life she would sacrifice herself at any time to help or comfort those in need. She was a loving wife, a helping companion, a devoted mother, a good a kind neighbor and a true Christian.
