Luther H. Buckner “Buck”, aged 85, of Saranac passed away September 6, 2014 at 
his home.  He was born June 13, 1929 in Farmington, Michigan the son of Robert 
and Ethel (Wilson) Buckner.  Luther married Carolyn March 30, 1989 in Florida.  
He worked as a heavy equipment Operator for 40 years, and was a member of the 
International Union of Operating Engineers Local 324.  He loved to Gamble. 

Luther is survived by his wife Carolyn Buckner of Saranac. Children Robert 
(Darline) Buckner of Grand Rapids, Ethel Brooks of Saranac, Cheryl (Larry) 
Garland of Redford, Kim (Danny) Delinsky of Saranac, Deborah (Parrish) Smith of 
Lowell, Janette Patrick and Greg Updyke of Saranac, Julie (Dean) Gage of 
Saranac, Amy (Thor) Ysseldyke of Ada and Michelle (Geoff) Emelander of Saranac. 
Sisters Betty Strafford of Livonia and Virdie LaFraniere of Southfield. Several 
Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, nieces and nephews. His Dog Teddy.  He was 
preceded in death by his parents. 

Memorial Services will be held Saturday, September 13, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. at the 
Saranac Community Church with Pastor Becky Poor officiating. Interment Easton 
Cemetery. Those wishing may make memorial contributions to his family. 
Arrangements by Lake Funeral Home in Saranac.
