Rev. William Buell, aged 82 years, formerly a much respected resident of this 
city, died at his home in Grand Rapids township, Wednesday, January 13, 1909.  
The funeral services were held from the Martin schoolhouse last Friday and the 
interment was made in Martin cemetery.

Mr. Buell was born in Otsego county, N. Y., January 16, 1827, and was married 
to Mary Ann Bristow of Ada township, Kent county, in 1849, and they have 
resided in that county ever since with the exception of a 12-years’ pastorate 
in Ionia county.  During the period of his ministry Mr. Buell was pastor of 
churches in Belding, Ada and other towns in this portion of Michigan, in each 
of which he leaves a wide circle of friends.  He is survived by the widow, one 
son and one granddaughter.  He preached in this city twenty years ago and was 
greatly admired for his many good qualities.
