Ionia Sentinel, 17 & 18 Dec 1956

The Rev. Earl R. Buffum, 42, died late Friday night, December 14 at Ruskin, 
Fla., from a heart attack.  He had been ill for several years.

A former pastor of the First Baptist church, where he served for five years, he 
left in 1952 when he received a call to Romeo where he stayed for about one 
year.  Later he moved to Stanton where he left two years ago for Ruskin, Fla. 
due to health failure.

Surviving are his wife Marjorie of Ruskin; a son, David of Stanton; his mother 
of Grand Rapids and several brothers.  Two children preceded him in death in 
infancy.

Funeral services will be held in Grand Rapids Tuesday.  Other arrangements will 
be announced later.

Funeral services for the Rev. Earl F. Buffum who died late Friday night will be 
conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Baptist church in Stanton.  The Rev. 
Mitchell will officiate and will be assisted by the Rev. Lester DeBoer.  At 3 
p.m. services will be conducted at the Van Streim-Altman funeral chapel in 
Grand Rapids.
