The deceased, who for several years has conducted the Metropolitan Taxi service, with headquarters at the Bailey House, was taken ill at the hostelry Thursday evening and removed to his home at 310 Lovell place. Here he apparently rallied and later retired to his room, where in the early hours of the following morning he was discovered by members of the family in a dying condition, and despite the efforts of the family physician, death ensued a few minutes later, acute indigestion being given as the cause. Mr. Bull, who was 66 years of age, has not bee in the best of health of late, but continued to work until the day he was stricken. He was a native of Ohio, coming to Ionia from Jackson, where he first located after leaving the Buckeye state. For a number of years he was an employee of the old D.L.&N., leaving the service of that company to establish the Ionia Transfer Co., which he disposed of several years ago. Funeral services, conducted by Rev. E. E. Branch, were held at 2 o’clock Monday afternoon at the house and later from the Baptist church, the obsequies being attended by a large number of business men, acquaintances and life long friends and associates. Court house officials attended the services in a body, the deceased being for 14 years a court officer under Judge Davis. Interment was made in Highland Park, Masonic brethren of Mr. Bull having charge of the ceremonials. He was also a member of the Elks and Maccabees. Besides his wife, he leaves one son, Harry Bull, three brothers, Jerry Bull, of Grand Rapids; Ed. Bull, of Greenville, and George Bull, of Jackson. He leaves also three sisters, Mrs. Ida Bidwell and Mrs. Ed. Thayer, both of Jackson, and Mrs. Jane Mudge, of Chelsea, and a nephew, Bert Bull, of Battle Creek, who was brought up by Mr. and Mrs. Bull.
