Bullen, 80, of Portland and Lakeland, Fla., died Dec. 30, 1996. Mrs. Bullen was born in Sturgeon Bay, Wis., Aug. 11, 1916, the daughter of Myrtle and George Keller. She was employed as a photojournalist by the Lansing State Journal, The Grand Rapids Press, Ionia Sentinel Standard, and The Portland Review & Observer. She was also a freelance photographer. She worked for Farm Bureau Services in Lansing. During the 17 years they wintered in Florida, she and her husband worked for the Detroit Tigers in Lakeland. She enjoyed oil painting, writing poetry, traveling, friendships, and family, serving the Portland community in many ways. She is survived by her husband, Clark H. Bullen; sons, John (Sharon) Chidester of Boone, Iowa, and Roger (Marylou) and Craig Bullen, both of Portland; daughters, Kathie (Ralph) Showerman of Frankenmuth and Laurie (Kamal) Jarrah of Lakeland; brother, Roy Scholz of Port Falls, Idaho; relatives and friends in Sturgeon Bay; 15 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Robert; and son Barry Lee Bullen, in 1954. Cremation has taken place. Services were held at the Portland United Methodist Church Jan. 25.
