Richard “Dick” E. Bullis, aged 79, of Muir, after a battle with cancer—and 
many fish—passed away peacefull Friday, April 10, 2009 surrounded by his 
family and friends, and his special friend Josie.  He was born Oct. 17, 1929 
in Sturgis, the son of Wellington and Hazel (Abbaduska) Bullis.  Richard was a 
graudate of Lyons High School and Lansing Community College.  Dick worked for 
General Motors in Lansing as a mason brick layer, until retiring in 1988.  He 
was an Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict era; and enjoyed fising, 
hunting, and sharing his wealth of hickory and walnuts with family and friends.

He married Virginia Timm Reiger Oct. 22, 1955.  She preceded him in death 
April 12, 2006.  He was also preceded in death by sisters Donna O’Connel, 
Barbara Ludwick and Jill VanDomlen.

Richard is survived by his children Steven W. Reiger of Orleans, Thomas E. 
(Karen) Reiger of Muir, Taryn S. (Charles) Francisco of Grant and Patrick R. 
(Becky) Bullis of Grandville; grandhcldren Michael, Ingalisa, Thomas II, 
Rebecca, Heather, Kristen, Ian, Tyler and Annie; great-grandchildren Elizabeth 
and Devyn; special friends and fmaily Josie, Peter and Annie Ludwick of Ionia, 
Charles and Sherrill Timm of Florida, Dave and Pat VanDomen of Florida and 
Michael Timm of California and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, April 13, at Lake Funeral Home 
in Ionia with Rev, Charlon Mason officiating.  Interment at Mt. Olivet 
Cemetery.  The family will receive friends and relatives 4-7 p.m. Sunday at 
the Funeral home.
