Verner D. Bunce, 78, of Belding, died Wednesday, Dec. 31, 1997, at United
Memorial Hospital, Greenville.  He was born Feb. 17, 1919, in Belding, the son
of Loyal E. and Lydia Ward Bunce.

He was a metal finisher at Gibson Products Corp. and GMC Fisher Body in Lansing,
retiring in 1982.  He was a veteran of World War II and a life member of Belding
VFW Post 4406.

He is survived by his wife, Mable Bunce of Belding; three sons and two
daughters-in-law, Gary Bunce, Richard and Shelly Bunce, all of Belding, Kip and
April Bunce of Sunfield; eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services are 2 p.m. Saturday at Huffman Funeral Home, Belding, with the
Rev. Kendall Harger officiating.  Interment will be in Rest Haven Memory
Gardens, Belding, lot 53-A, Sec. 4, Gr. 1&2, Garden of Gethsemane.  Visitation
is today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
