Mabel M. Bunce, 82, of Belding died Monday morning, May 12, 2003 at the her 
home.  She was born February 21, 1921 in Clare County, the daughter of 
Benjamin F. and Ruby F. Elderidge Ward.  

She was married to Vernerd Bunce and he preceded her in death in 1997.  Mabel 
was also preceded in death by her sons; Gary in 2002, Daryl, Verne, Rex, a 
daughter in infancy, her sisters; Kate Shindorf and Evelyn Williams, her 
stepbrother Kenneth Dowgle and stepsister Barbara Hoag.

Mabel is survived by her children Richard Bunce of Belding; Kip and April 
Bunce of Sunfield, seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great 
grandchildren; her brother and sister, Jerry and Carol Ward of Belding and 
Dode Smith of Belding and a stepbrother Harold Dowgle.

Funeral services at 11 a.m. Thursday at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, 
Belding, with Pastor Ken Harger of Shiloh Community Church officiating.  
Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens, Belding.

The family will greet relatives and friends at 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 
8 p.m. Wednesday.  Memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion, 
Post No. 203, Belding.
