Bunnell, 71, for more than 20 years traffic manager of the Ypsilanti Furniture factory and treasurer of the Ionia city band, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. W.H. Burke, at Owosso, Tuesday morning, according to an Associated Press dispatch. Besides being associated with the former Governor Fred W. Green, he was for six years traffic expert for the Michigan public securities commission during the administrations of Green and Brucker. Brights disease, which forced his retirement three months ago today caused his death, it was reported. He was formerly division freight agent for the Pere Marquette railroad at Muskegon. While associated with the reed furniture factory here Mr. Bunnell began a movement which resulted in the levying of a city band tax. He was a baritone player in the city band for many years. Survivors are his wife; one daughter, Mrs. William H. Burke; two sons, Harold of Cheboygan, and Howard of Lansing; one step-daughter, Mrs. Helen Kent of Detroit; one sister, Mrs. George Osborne of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be held form the Stebbins funeral home here Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock. Interment will be at Highland Park.
