Elton was born March 15, 1930, near Two Rivers, the son of Oral Ray and Theresa Ege Bunting. Elton was 16 years old when he moved to Belding to begin working at Extruded Metals. He retired in 1991 after 46 years of service. Elton loved the laughter of his family and willingly sacrificed his personal time to ensure their happiness. His weekdays were devoted to hard work to provide for them and his weekends were devoted to campfires, sledding, playing cards and other family adventures. He was generous to a fault. Elton was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He was married June 27, 1953, at St. Isadore Church in Laingsburg to Mary Bachelder. He was preceded by his parents; brothers, Olen and John; and sister-in-law Pat Bunting. He is survived by his wife, Mary; their children, Paul J. and Judy Bunting, and Sherri and Becky of South Haven, Kathy and Mark Sickler, and Audrey, of Greenville, Chris J. Bunting of Crystal, Theresa J. and Michael McKinney, and Cary and Jacob, of Elgin, Ariz., Joel and Laura Bunting, and Erika, Andrew and Katie, of Belding, Beth and Shaun O’Grady, and Aoife and Oisin, of Hubbardston, Matthew Bunting, and Allison and Michael of Belding, Daniel Bunting of Novi; sisters and brother, Irene and Dalton Rayborn of Greenville, Lucile Bollman, Miles and Elaine Bunting, all of Mount Pleasant; sister-in-law, Ladonna and Calvin Havekost of Lake; and several nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian burial will be offered 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Belding, with Father CK and Deacon Howard Scheid as celebrants. Interment will follow at 2 p.m. in Two Rivers Cemetery near Mount Pleasant. Visitation is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today with a rosary prayed at 7:30 p.m. at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding. Memorial contributions may be given to St. Joseph School or Alvah N.
