BURBANK Allen T. After three years there he came with his people to Lake Odessa living here until a little over a years ago, returning with the family to Ionia where he had since lived. He finished the high school course here graduating with the class of 1903, and soon after took up the study of law in his father's office which he continued for about a year, going then to take a course in the McLachlan Business College at Grand Rapids. It was while away at school that he contracted such a severe cold followed by an equally severe attack of la grippe, that he was unable to shake them off or in any way recover from the double attack, the disease centering on his lungs with such determined severity as to seemingly preclude any possible recovery. All attention possible was given towards staying the dreadful attack but seemingly to no satisfactory avail, and inch by inch his most amiable and popular life gradually passed away until the final summons early last week Thursday morning Allen was always a studious thoughtful, thoroughgoing and pleasant young man, well liked by all. While living at Ionia he joined the Church of Christ and remained a member till his death. with bright prospects and so promising a career before him, the death of Allen comes as a sad blow indeed, to the grief stricken family. Besides his sorrowing parents he leaves to mourn his untimely departure two brothers and twos sisters and also one with whom he had hoped to up the journey through life int he near future, she being one of Lake Odessa's most highly esteemed young ladies Miss Zella Bennett, for all of whom deepest sympathy is felt. The funeral service was held from the residence on 315 Harter Street, at 2:30 Sunday afternoon, conducted by Rev. G.W.Moore pastor of the Church of Christ, and was largely attended, a number going from this place. The singing was by Mrs.L.P Brock and Mrs.Thane Benedict of Ionia.
