Burch, 85, of Ionia, went to be together forever with the Lord and her husband, Paul, on Monday, November 10, 2003. She was born July 16, 1918 in Boston, Massachusetts, the daughter of Peter and Jenny Gunderson Fure. Mrs. Burch was a resident of Coldwater Lake, Coldwater for 23 years before moving to Ionia in 1970. She was a member of the Ionia Historical Society and attended First Assembly of God Church in Ionia. She worked for Chrysler Corporation Federal Mogul, the Ionia County Commission o Aging and volunteered for the Montcalm County Intermediate School District for many years. She graduated from Wayne State University, receiving her Bachelor’s of Arts degree in education, and from Detroit Business College, receiving her business certificate. She also graduated from Ganapol Music School as a concert artist in violin. She taught violin for 40 years. Lillian married Paul R. Burch on April 21, 1945. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Burch, on August 2, 1975; and grandson, Ernest Charles Zierle. She is survived by two sons, Robert M. Burch of Montreal, Quebec, Douglas M. and Thelma Burch of Fenwick; four daughters, Brenda and Robert Forrister of Coldwater, Karen and Lee Weisz Zierle of Knoxville, Tennessee, Sharon L. and Stephen Marchese of Sheridan, Kristine and Conrad Campbell of Ionia; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. Funeral services were November 13 at Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, Cook Chapel, 220 Rich Street, Ionia with the Rev. Conrad Campbell officiating. Interment is in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Ionia.
