Ionia Daily Standard, 4 Jan 1901

Muir, Jan. 3. – The remains of Miss Minnie Burden, who died in Battle Creek Dec.
27, were brought here for burial last Saturday.  She died of consumption, in the
35th year of her age, after a lingering illness.  She was the eldest daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. W.W. Burden, who formerly resided in this place, and she was a very
estimable young lady.  For seven years she was engaged in S.D.A. mission work in
Detroit, and was similarly engaged in Toronto, Canada, for a year, her health
failing her while she was laboring in the latter city.  A large number of
sympathizing friends met the bereaved family at the depot and followed the
remains to the cemetery, where a short service was held, conducted by Elder
Howe, of the Lyons S.D.A. church and Elder Bray of the Muir Disciple church. 
The remains were viewed at the grave.
