The Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, Monday, February 12, 1962
Mrs. Bertha I. Burger, 81, died at 11:40 p.m. Saturday at St. Lawrence 
hospital in Lansing where she had been a patient since December 13.  Born 
October 18, 1880 in Lyons township, she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Delos 
Mills.  She was married December 24, 1902 to Lloyd Burger by the Rev. Martin 
Luther Fox at the Baptist parsonage in Ionia.  She was a member of Lyons 
Methodist church.  Mrs. Burger had spent her entire married life at the 
present home on Kimball road east of Lyons.

She is survived by her husband, Lloyd, a son, Donald of Lyons; a daughter, 
Mrs. Marie Babcock of Lyons, and two grandchildren.  The body will repose at 
Shaw-Rivett funeral home until Wednesday noon when it will be taken to Lyons 
Methodist church for service at 2 p.m.  the Rev. William Reynders will 
officiate and burial will be at Lyons cemetery.

Funeral services were conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Lyons Methodist church 
for Mrs. Lloyd Burger who passed away Saturday evening at St. Lawrence 
Hospital, Lansing.  Rev. William Reynders, pastor of the church, officiated.  
The music was by Diane Russell, organist.  Bearers were Frank Heckman, Pewamo; 
Thane Dennis, Arthur Crandall, Muir; Lawrence Albright, Charles Hopkins and 
Harold Schwab, Lyons.  Interment was in the Lyons cemetery.  

Relatives and friends from away who attended were Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Burger,

Saranac; Harold Clements, Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Skelding, Mr. and Mrs. George 
Sage, Ionia; Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Cook, Mr. and Mrs. William Jandernoa, 
Pewamo; Mr. and Mrs. William Simon, Bernard Werner, Clements Kramer, Bruce 
Kramer, Mrs. Donald Wood, Mrs. Orah Roach, Mrs. A. V. Jandernoa, Ruth Swindt 
and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Kramer, Pewamo; Jerry Burns, Hubbardston; Mr. and Mrs. 
Leon Fenner, Jill and Wendy, Lloyd Gibbs, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Simon,
