The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Monday, December 11, 1967
Lloyd Burger, 86, of Kimball road, Lyons, died Sunday afternoon at Ionia 
County Memorial hospital.  He was born in Orange township June 7, 1881, son of 
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Burger and attended rural schools.  He was married to 
Bertha Mills in 1901, she passed away February 1962.  

Mr. Burger served as deputy sheriff of Ionia county 15 years and also Lyons 
township highway commissioner several years and 33 years as Lyons township 
supervisor.  He retired as a candidate five years ago after his wife died.   
He was a life member of Lyons lodge F and AM 37.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Ivan Babcock of Lyons; one son, Donald 
Burger, Muir; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Masonic service will be Tuesday evening at 8 o’clock at the Shaw-Rivett-Hull 
funeral home in Muir.  Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Lyons 
Methodist church.  Rev. Stephen Beach will officiate and burial will be in 
Lyons cemetery.
