The Portland Observer, Thursday, May 17, 1923

Mrs. Burgess died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ray Thuma Thursday, May 
10.  The funeral was held at the M. E. church, Saturday at 2:00 p.m.  Burial 
in Sebewa cemetery.  Besides the daughter, two sons and two brothers survive.
