Rev. Michael J. Burgrath, Beloved by Tuberculosis Patients, Victim of Heart Disease. FREELAND, Pa., March 23 - At the rectory of St. Patrick's Church, White Haven, of which he was pastor for thirty-six years, Rev. Michael J. Burgrath,, died today from heart disease. He came here from Portland, Mich. and was immediately assigned to the parish in which he died. Father Burgrath was 65 years of age and was greatly beloved in this district for his charitable work. For the victims of tuberculosis, since the erection of the sanatorium here brought hundreds of strangers seeking relief, he had special solitude and was largely instrumental in having dissipated the strong dislike expressed in White Haven against the appearance of consumptives in public places.
