Ionia Sentinel, 18 Nov 1885

The funeral of the late W.P. Burhans took place on Thursday.  The services were
conducted by Rev. W.S. Potter, pastor of the Presbyterian church, assisted by
Rev. Job Pierson D.D., former pastor.  The house was crowded with friends of
deceased and family.  Among those present from outside the city were Mrs.
Whipple of Grand Rapids, and Mrs. and Mrs. Vandevanter of Marion, Ind.  The
remains were interred in Oak Hill cemetery by the side of those of his son.
