She had been in poor heath for several years, but of late, her condition had improved. Mr. and Mrs. Burhan's celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary on November 29 last. Deceased was born in Ohio in 1869 and came to Michigan with her parents when a young child. Her maiden named was Hattie LaDue. Surviving are her husband and four children: Mrs. Maude Thomas, Ionia; Mrs. Luella Wise, Lake Odessa; Mrs. Ruby Seiler, Lancaster, N.Y. and one son, Rolla Burhans of Portland. There is also one sister living in Lyons, five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the Bandfield Chapel, Wednesday afternoon at 2 p.m. in charge was Rev. George Whipple of the Portland Methodist Church with burial in the Portland Cemetery.
