Portland - Rodney L. Burhans, 81, of Portland died Sept. 13, 1997. 

He was born May 13, 1916 in Portland. He was a World War II veteran of the Navy,
Seaman First Class and retired from Oldsmobile. 

He is survived by his wife, LaDonna of Portland; four daughters, JoAnn (Walter)
Zimmerman of Lyons, Sandra (Eugene) VanSiclen of Portland, Carolyn (LaVern) Ely
of Woodland and Anna Repsher of Auburndale, Fla.; six sons, Charles (Linda) and
Ronald (LuAnn) Burhans, both of Lyons, Richard (Carrie) and Rodney (Patricia)
Burhans, both of Portland, Michael (Charlene) of Ionia and Keith Burhans of
Grand Ledge; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Sept. 16 at 2 p.m. at the
Gorsline-Runciman Co. Neller Chapel, 210 Bridge St., Portland with the Rev. Jim
E. Howard, Pastor of First Baptist Church of Portland officiating. Interment
will follow in Portland City Cemetery, Portland. Graveside services will be
provided by Portland V.F.W. Post #4090. Friends may call at the Chapel Sunday
from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Monday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Chapel hours are from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
