This week we are called upon to record the death of another—Levi C. He was married there in 1841. He was married a second time in 1888. He first came to Portland in 1852 and settled on what is now known as the Torrance farm. After that he vibrated between Portland and his old home in York state as a place of residence, finally settling in Portland. In 1860 he and C. H. Maynard went to Pike’s Peake by the overland route and they remained there about a year. He leaves four children, Frederick, Luther of Chicago, Frank and Mrs. Frank Chalker.
