She had been ill for the past three years. Although they had not been called here, it so happened that her four children who live away from Ionia were here to spend the weekend with her. Mrs. Burke had been a resident of Ionia for more than 60 years, and was the widow of John Burke, whose death occurred in 1919. For virtually all of their married life they had resided on Center street. Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock from the Boynton funeral home at Rich and Lafayette streets. Interment will be at Highland Park cemetery in the family lot. The Rev. Father Everett A. Moore will officiate. Mrs. Burke was born in Germany in 1855 and came to the United States as a girl of 16. Surviving her are four daughters, Mary of Ionia, Mrs. D. B. Long and Mrs. G. A. Vreeland of Battle Creek, and Mrs. Thomas Humphreys of Detroit; and two sons, Harry of Ionia and John of Battle Creek.
