Mary E. Burke, 81, of 439 Center street, died Friday afternoon in Ionia County 
Memorial hospital, where she had been a patient three weeks.  She was born 
January 23, 1886, in Ionia, the daughter of John and Elizabeth Burke, and was 
formerly employed at Cartens department store and the Quality store in Ionia.

Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Thomas Humphrey of Ionia and Mrs. Margaret 
Vreeland of Battle Creek, and one brother, Harry O. Burke of Ionia.

Services will be Monday at Stone-Kauffman funeral home in Ionia with burial in 
Highland Park cemetery.  Rev. Fr. Raymond Bierlein will officiate.
