Lillian Burke Dies at Hastings.

Mrs. Lillian Burke, 88, of 431 W. State Rd., Hastings, passed away Monday 
evening at the Barry County Care Facility where she had been a patient since 
August of 1974.

She was born at South Haven January 5, 1888, the daughter of Andrew and Alice 
(Bishop) Dowd and came to Hastings as a child.

A graduate of the Hastings high school in 1905, she was a pianist in theater 
orchestra for many years, also a former piano teacher and was a member of the 
American Federation of Musicians.

She married John Burke of Hastings, February 8, 1906, and he passed away 
December 9, 1963.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Crystal Howard of Lake Odessa and Mrs. Ralph 
(Eileen) Burroughs of Hastings, three grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

Mrs. Burke reposed at the Leonard-Osgood Funeral Home at Hastings where services 
were held Thursday at 1:30 (today), Rev. William Hertel officiated with burial 
in Riverside Cemetery, Hastings.
