Richard D. Burke, 82, a retired electronic technician with Michigan Bell 
Telephone Co., died Saturday, June 19, 2004 at Legacy Hospice in Ocala, FL.  
Born in Durand he moved with his family to Ionia, graduating from Ionia High 
School in 1941. In 1979 he moved from Wyoming to Ocala, FL. Mr. Burke was a 
member of the Southern Bell Pioneers of Grand Rapids.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Margaret Burke of Ocala, FL.; sons, 
Richard L. Burke of Comstock Park, Mark Burke of Jenison; daughters, Sandra 
Hertstein of Hudsonville and Debra Pikola of Ludington; sister, Gloria 
Houghton of Cadillac; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.  He was 
preceded in death by his parents, Dewey and Olive Burke of Lake City, and 
brother, Eugene Burke of Ionia.
