CHARLES W. BURKETT
SARANAC-Charles W. Burkett, 74, of 70 Morrison Lake road, Saranac, died May 25.

He was born in Lansing born May of 19214, the son of William and Florence Grace 
Burkett.

He was a member of Masonic Lodge 22 of Lansing, Saranac Lions Club, Central 
Methodist Church of Lansing. Burkett was retired from John Bean Machinery of 
Lansing in 1972. He married Rena Hale March 26, 1934, in Angola, Indiana.

He is survived by his wife; mother-in-law Leotis Hale of Lake Odessa; two sons, 
William of Lowell and Michael of Howell; two daughters, Suzanne Mickelson of 
Saranac and Connie McCumby of Saranac; one sister, Thelma Cosgrove of Lansing; 
14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be Saturday, 11 a.m. at the Saranac Community Church with 
the Rev. Sid Short officiating of the Central Methodist Church of Lansing. 
Interment will be at Saranac Cemetery.

The family will be at the Lake Funeral Home, Saranac, Friday, 2-4 and 7-8 p.m.

Memorials have been established for the Saranac High School Golf Team and the 
Michigan Heart Fund.
