The Ionia Daily Sentinel, Monday, October 18, 1943
Funeral services for Charles Burkett, 79, who died early Saturday morning at 
the Ionia County Memorial hospital as a result of a stroke, were held Monday 
afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Myers funeral home.  Rev. George Woolcock, 
pastor of First Baptist church, officiated and burial was in the family lot in 
Saranac cemetery.  Mr. Burkett was born March 11, 1864 in Ohio and moved to 
Michigan when a young man.  For over 25 years he had been a farmer in Boston 
township.  He is survived by his wife Minnie.
