Burling died at the home of her son, S. S. Burling, at 1 o’clock Thursday afternoon, Nov. 23. Funeral services were held at the house Saturday, being conducted by Rev. Geo. Ransom, and the remains were taken to Muskegon the same day for burial. Those who were here from abroad to attend the funeral were Mrs. Wesley Monroe of Grand Rapids, W. S. Burling of Barry County, daughter and son, respectively, of the deceased; also George Monroe of Grand Rapids, S. S. Burling, W. S. Burling, sons, Frank Burling and Walter Burling, grandsons of the deceased, acted as pall bearers. The deceased was born at West Point, N.Y., Dec. 30, 1812 and was, therefore, at the time of her death, nearly 81 years of age. Previous to her removal to this place, a short time ago, she lived in Muskegon, where her home had been for about 30 years. Her husband died there about two years ago. She was an exemplary Christian and a member of the Presbyterian church.
