Born in Ionia, April 24, 1892, she was the daughter of Edward and Hattie Wedge. She attended school in Ionia and was employed at Citizens Telephone company and then sold greeting cards for several years. During World War II she was employed at Ypsilanti Reed furniture company and its successor Ionia Manufacturing company until her retirement in 1958. In 1923 she was married to Edmund Burlingame in Ionia and he and one son died in 1933. She was a lifelong member of First Baptist church of Ionia, its CCW class and class secretary 40 years, and member of the Mission society. She was also member of American Legion auxiliary. Surviving are one son, Richard Burlingame of Garden City; one daughter, Mrs. Wesley Longenbach of Woodbury; one brother, Edward Wedge of Ionia; two sisters, Mrs. Jessie Foreman and Mrs. Francis Malokofsky, both of Ionia, eleven grandchildren. Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Boynton funeral home with Rev. Lowell Young officiating. Interment will be in Highland Park cemetery.
