Rev. George Johnson, of the Church of Christ of Muir, was in charge of the services. Relatives, sons, and sons-in- laws were the bearers. The death of Mrs. Burnes was the third to occur in the immediate family within two years. Mr. Burnes died a year ago, and a son, James Burnes, was killed on the railroad two years ago. Mrs. Burnes was born in New York 67 years ago, and came to Michigan while a child. She lived here the greater part of her life, much of the time being spent near Saranac. The family moved to Muir about two years ago. Six children survive, Mrs. Walter Priest, of Ionia; Mrs. Alice Vincent, of Lapeer; Miss Bernice Burnes, of Muir, who teaches in the North Plains school; John, of Muir, and Joseph and Edward, of Ionia.
