She was born and raised in the village of Hubbardston. After graduating from St. John the Baptist High School, she went on to become a registered nurse at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor. She lived her working years and into retirement in Ann Arbor before moving to Lake Odessa to be near her sister, Frances Hybarger. Her final years were spent at Woodlawn Meadows Retirement Village in Hastings. Helen was preceded in death by two sisters, Lucille McCormack and Frances Hybarger; two brothers, Robert Burns and Donald Burns; and dear friend, Cecilia McClure. She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Ford and Lucille Burns; and many nieces and nephews and their families. A Memorial Mass and burial of her ashes will take place at St. John the Baptist Church in Hubbardston at 4:00 p.m. on April 9, 2007. A time of visitation with the family will begin at 3:00 p.m. prior to the Mass. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Edwards Catholic Church in Lake Odessa, St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Hubbardston, or to a charity of the donor’s choice. Arrangements are by the Koops Funeral Chapel in Lake Odessa.
