The Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, Wednesday, April 14, 1954

Mrs. Emma O. Burns, 65, of Woodard Lake died at her home Wednesday morning, 
April 14, at 7 o’clock.  She was born in Detroit June 13, 1887 and was the 
widow of Clifton S. Burns who died September 1, 1953.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Howard Keller of Traverse City, two sons, 
Woodrow Burns of Woodard Lake and Lloyd Burns of Roseville, one sister, Mrs. 
George Slivka of Cleveland, Ohio and two brothers, Oscar and Emel Wrobbell of 
Detroit.

She raised four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.  A great-
grandson, John David Fegan, preceded her in death August 14, 1953.

Prayer services will be held at Myers funeral home Monday morning at 9 o’clock 
and services at Holy Cross Lutheran church at 9:30 a.m. at Belding with the 
Rev. Paul Gutknecht officiating.  Interment will be in Woodmere cemetery, 
Detroit.
