Burns, 60, of Orleans died Wednesday, Oct. 4, 1995 at the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor. He was born on May 7, 1935 in Ionia, the son of Merl and Magreta (Cory) Burns. He graduated from Ionia High School and was a self-employed builder his entire life. He was a member of the Ionia Fishing and Hunting Club, M.U.C.C. Club, Ducks Unlimited, Pheasants Forever and the Ionia Moose Lodge. Surviving are his wife: Patricia; son Tim (Lori) Burns, of Ionia; daughters: Lorinda (Mark) Hills, of Ionia and Cindy (Wally) Ingvartsen, of Ionia; six grandchildren: Alicia, Brandon, Adam, Josh, Merleta and Tricia; father Merl, of Ionia; sisters: Merleta (Clinton) Antcliff, of Saranac and Leora Listerman, of Ionia. He was preceded in death by his mother, Magreta, on June 25, 1995 and his daughter, Cheryl Lynn, on July 2, 1975. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Shiloh Community Church with Rev. Kenneth Harger officiating. Interment will be in Easton Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 6, 1995 at the Cook Funeral Home in Ionia. Memorial contributions may be made to the wishes of the Burns family.
