Sentinel-Std. - Wednesday, Aug. 23, 1978

IONIA- Derek Mark Burns, 2 1/2, of 18 Wager Place, died suddenly Monday.

He was born December 15, 1975 in Belding, the son of Woen (Chuck) and Yvonne 
Forist Burns, jr.

Survivors include his parents; two brothers, Daniel Madison and Douglas 
Madison at home; three sisters, Diane Madison of Lowell, Carolyn Madison and 
Eva Mae Burns at home; his grandparents Mrs. Eva Culp and James Forist of 
Grand Rapids and Mr. and Mrs. Owen Burns, sr., of Belding; his great 
grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Donald Taylor of Ionia and Mrs. James Burns of 
Belding and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Services ware Thursday at 2 pm from the Myers-Roetman funeral home with Rev. 
William Neill of the Church of the Nazarene officiating.

Burial is in Mt. Olivet cemetery.

The family will receive friends and relatives at the funeral home Wednesday, 
2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm.

A memorial fund is established.
