Excerpts from Lansing Obituary

TERRENCE BURNS
Died August 10, 2020-age 81 at Ann Arbor.
Born April 5, 1939 to joe & Eve (Welch) Burns in Hubbardston, Michigan.
Joined a large family with six brothers & sisters.
Graduated fromSt.John The Baptist High School were he met Mary Ellen Simon from 
Pewamo, Mich. & they were married on January 10, 1959.
Terry served four years in the Air Force, including a tour of France where their 
son Joe was born. Terry graduated from Lansing Community College, completed 
several course at Michigan State University.
Terry held many positions for the State of Michigan, including many years as the 
Treasurer of the Michigan Veteran Trust Fund.
He enjoyed camping with family, sailing, reading, traveling, good conversation, 
time with grandchildren & wives cooking. 
Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Mary Ellen, two children;Joe (Patti 
Brissette) Burns of Ann Arbor, MI & Jacqui Burns (Chuck) Wahl of Muskegon, MI., 
five grandchildren, Marissa Wahl (Joe) Huffman of Cincinnati,OH,Ian Burns of Ann 
Arbor,MI,Caley Wahl of Charlotte,NC,Margaret Burns and Zachary Burns of San 
Diego, CA,one great-grandchild, Natalie Huffman; brother & sisters,in-
laws,nieces & nephews.
Funeral Mass will be held at St.Mary's Student Parish, Ann Arbor,MI. for 
Immediate family.
