The Ionia County News, Thursday, October 22, 1942
Mrs. Leon Burns, 1011 West Main Street, died suddenly Tuesday noon, October 
20, at the Ionia Community hospital where she had been a patient since 
Monday.  Erma Beckley, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Beckley, was born in 
Lowell, October 21, 1901 and would have reached her forty-first birthday 
Wednesday.  She was married to Leon Burns in 1922 and had lived in Ionia about 
15 years.  

Besides her husband, Mrs. Burns leaves one daughter, Darlene; three sister, 
Mrs. Nina Hall, Otsego; Mrs. Ida Shoreman, Hastings; and Mrs. A. Morse, Lowell.

Services will be from Myers Funeral Home at 2:00 Friday afternoon and burial 
will be in Lowell cemetery.
